Greetings and welcome to my photography website. My name is Michael McLean, AKA, Max. I love photographing all types of wildlife, with owls and hawks being my favorite subjects. I also enjoy photographing landscapes and the night sky. I have over 50 years of experience behind the lens. I have had the privilege of documenting countless birds and mammals through the years.

My journey into photography began when I was around 6 years old inspired by my father who loved to take pictures. Through the years I have developed a love for wildlife and all things nature which gives me a calm and peace. I like to say the swamp and woods are my happy places where I can enjoy the wild to it’s fullest.

My style is to capture the world in it’s natural state. I believe in being an observer of nature, viewing and documenting what I see, allowing the story to unfold before me, capturing the intimate details and sharing this journey with as many people as I can.
